Seven months before we could not load the site at all, it was telling visitors over 3,000 students had already come through — alongside case studies no one outside the company can check.— CrazyCheck.ai editorial, October 2026
Who actually runs it
Stock Market Lab is not an anonymous operation. It's registered with the Better Business Bureau as Stock Market Lab LLC, based in Staten Island, NY, with Umar Ashraf named directly as its Manager and principal contact. The BBB file carries an A+ rating and zero complaints. Ashraf is independently findable beyond the company's own marketing — promotional pieces in Benzinga (2019) and Haute Living (2021, explicitly tagged as the outlet's sponsored "Haute Partners" content, not staff journalism) describe him founding Stock Market Lab after an earlier venture, Ashraf Capital, and later launching TradeZella, a separate trade-journaling SaaS product we did not audit here.
That's a materially better starting point than most subjects in this niche, where the person behind the offer is often untraceable. What's unusual is what we found trying to check the business's current state.
- Registered LLC, named founder, BBB A+ rating, zero complaints
- Founder independently findable, though press coverage of him leans promotional
A business that was marketing a relaunch seven months ago — and isn't reachable now
As of this audit, stockmarketlab.com returns a server error, and Trustpilot's own profile page for the company states plainly: "it's not possible to leave a review here anymore because the company's website has closed."
That could describe a business that quietly wound down months or years ago. It doesn't. Our most recent independently-dated snapshot of the live site — from March 12, 2026, about seven months before this audit — shows Stock Market Lab actively marketing a relaunched "SML 2.0" program, headlined "We Help You Accelerate Your Trading Journey" and claiming "Over 3,000 students have started their trading journey with us." At that date, enrollment itself was already gated: "Next Enrollment TBD", with a waitlist signup rather than an open cohort — meaning the business may have already been paused before it went fully offline.
We don't know why the site is down, whether it's temporary, or what (if anything) current waitlisted students have been told. We report the timeline as we could verify it rather than guess at a cause: live and marketing a relaunch in March 2026, unreachable by October 2026.
- Live site: HTTP 503 as of this audit; Trustpilot confirms 'the company's website has closed'
- Last known-live snapshot (Mar 2026): actively marketing a relaunch with a waitlist, not an open cohort
A mostly positive record — but a stale and incomplete one
Stock Market Lab's Trustpilot history is genuinely more favorable than most subjects we audit: 12 of its 14 reviews are positive, five-star reviews specific enough to be credible (one student reports growing an account from $2,000 to $12,000; another calls the course "far more affordable and valuable than" an MBA), spread across October 2017 through October 2022.
Two reviews, both from 2023, are negative. One makes unevidenced claims about the founders' personal background and character rather than the offer itself — the kind of allegation this audit format deliberately excludes when it's unsourced and character-directed at a named individual, so we don't repeat its specifics here. The other is a specific, checkable complaint: a reviewer says a roughly $3,000 purchase got them no real access to Umar Ashraf, cancelled webinars, and an inactive Discord. We searched for a second, independent account describing the same pattern and found none — so we report it as one reviewer's account, not a proven pattern.
Read together with zero Trustpilot reviews in the last 12 months and the site going down entirely, the mostly-positive consensus here is real but old — it tells you what students experienced years ago, not what the business's final months actually looked like.
- 12 of 14 Trustpilot reviews positive, 2017-2022 — a stronger base than most subjects in this niche
- The one specific 2023 access complaint is single-source and unconfirmed elsewhere
Big numbers, no way to check them
The March 2026 marketing page leaned heavily on named "Student Case Studies" with large, specific trading-profit claims: "$411,000 In 12 Months Trading Full Time," "$187,000 in 2 Months," "$37,000 in 3 weeks." None of these were accompanied by audited trading-account verification — the kind of statement platforms like Myfxbook or FX Verify provide — or any disclaimer about typical results.
We're not saying these specific students didn't make this money. We're saying there's no way for a prospective buyer — or for us — to check it, and marketing a course on the strength of unaudited, self-selected, large-dollar outcomes is exactly the pattern regulators scrutinize "make money" sellers over. Combined with the business now being unreachable, anyone still holding a waitlist spot or considering paying should weigh that this is an unverified claim, not a track record.
- Six-figure student case studies, self-published, with no independent verification
- No regulator action found — but also no audited performance data to check the marketing against
Who should — and should not — engage with this
If you're a past student wondering what happened: you're not imagining it — the site going down is real and recent, not a long-standing shutdown. We'd suggest checking Umar Ashraf's other active venture (TradeZella) or his social channels for any update, since the audited site itself currently returns no information.
If you're on the March 2026 waitlist or considering signing up: there is currently no way to pay for or access this course — the checkout path itself is down. Treat any outside party claiming to sell you access on Stock Market Lab's behalf with real suspicion until the official site is back.
If you're evaluating this historically (the brand still gets searched): the underlying multi-year review record is genuinely more positive than most subjects in this niche, and the business is BBB-clean. But the marketed income claims were never independently verifiable, and the business's current, unexplained downtime is itself new and material information a 2022-era review wouldn't have captured.
We rate this Cautious · 54/100: a real, named, historically well-reviewed business, held down by unverified big-dollar marketing claims and — as of this audit — an unexplained, very recent disappearance.
- No live way to buy, join, or verify anything right now — the checkout/site itself is down
- Historically well-reviewed, but the income claims behind the 2026 relaunch were never independently checkable
